Mac Expo

Today I am at MacWorld in SF. I seem to be trapped in the South Expo area. So much to see. Much of it seems to be bling for Ipods. I never knew there were so many ways to dress a nano or even a laptop. Favorite place was the Digital Photography area and H&R Block’s Tango Blog and Brew area. That’s where I am now, drinking a pint of Anchor Steam on draft while blogging… This is life.I feel like a mole here since I haven’t used my G3 much since the Channel went under, or dried up, depending on your choice of metaphors.I love Macs but wonder at the elitism of them. The computers cost more than PCs. I also wasn’t too impressed by their Adapted Technology section of the Expo. I will have to come back early tomorrow and see what is in the West Expo area.

Actually this is more of an update. I haven’t been blogging in a while. I have been busy with attending the California Library Association Conference in Long Beach and visiting my folks.

I had a great time at the conference and learned alot. For more information about the conference and CLA please go to http://www.cla-net.org/

There were lots of great speakers, presentations and exhibits. I really enjoyed Infopeople’s Technology “petting zoo.” I played with all sorts of technology. WII, IPhones, etc. I really worked up a sweat playing tennis with WII. Unfortuntely I am as bad at WII bowling as I am at the real game.
Infopeople also sponsored Ray Bradbury’s interview. I can never decide which book I like best–Martian Chronicles or Fahrenheit 451? Do you have a favorite Bradbury book?

CLA had great speakers: I really enjoyed listening to Sarah Vowell

Now for a little editorial license…

Welcome to All Booked Up, my new venue for creativity. I love books and I love travel. Hence the title of this page.

The title Editorial License comes from the name of the column I wrote for The Channel, a monthly newsmagazine. You can still find bits and pieces of it on line. Here is the column I wrote on the first anniversary of publishing The Channel. http://www.ibiblio.org/channel/Editorial.html

That was back in 1994. The format isn’t pretty but it worked for us. We were primarily a print newspaper.
